Excursion to the fortress of Gonio and the Botanical Garden - Full-day tour of Batumi
Our day will begin with a visit to the Botanical Garden - one of the largest gardens in the world. The collection of living plants is more than 5 thousand species, varieties, and forms, including about 2 thousand species of arboreal and shrubby plants.
Next, we will visit the Fortress of Gonio (1st century BC) - which was early mentioned as Apsarunthos. It is located 15 km from Batumi, on the left bank of the Chorokhi River.
Further, we will go to Sarpi (the border of Georgia and Turkey).
Then we go back to Batumi city and have a city tour. We will visit the Catholic Church (2000), the Synagogue (1904), the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary (1898-1902), and the Gregorian Church. We will also see the Archaeological Museum, and Art Gallery. We will go to the Era Square with the Medea statue, and the famous Piazza square, where the most popular concerts of Batumi are held.
After the tour, we will have a dinner in the national restaurant (for an additional fee), where tourists can enjoy Georgian cuisine and listen to Georgian national music.
