Wine tasting and Georgian dinner at the family winery - "Baia's Wine"

After we meet at our office or at your Hotel around 06:00 and at 06:30 we leave the city. At 9 a.m. we stop at a cosy café in Kutaisi for 30 min breakfast break.

The excursion starts at 10:00 from our office in Kutaisi. The first stop is the 1st Public School of Kutaisi. Here guide tells about the history of Georgia and Kutaisi. After taking pictures group continues to the white bridge, then goes through the Park of Love and visits the Golden marquee palace. Then we go to the central grocery bazaar. After short shopping, we walk to the central square of Kutaisi. The next stop is a central garden where you will see a statue of Sisters Ishkhnelebi, and a memorial of "9 April". Then we pass by the opera house and Mon Plaisir Arch. Then we move to the Kutaisi state history museum.

After the walking tour, we drive up to Bagrati Cathedral which overlooks the city. It was built in the 11th century as a symbol of united Georgia. Afterward, we move to the Gelati monastery of the 12th century. There are 3 big churches, an academy, the grave of David the Builder, a bell tower, and houses of monks in the complex. It was built by the greatest Georgian King David The Builder.  Then we move to Motsameta monastery which is related to the story of tortured brother lords David and Constantine Mkheidze. It’s built on a cliff and is surrounded by the river on 3 sides. The nature and colors around the monastery are amazing.

For lunch, we visit the family winery “Baia’s Wine” located in Bagdati municipality, village Obcha. Firstly Baia and Gvantsa (Baia’s sister) show us the vineyard that is just behind their house. Then we move to the wine cellar to test several types of wines they have. They produce “Tsolikouri”, “Krakhuna”, “Aladasturi”, “Ojaleshi”, “Otskhanuri Sapere” and of course “Chacha”. Afterward, we sit around a big table full of Georgian food. Their mom makes the most delicious Imeretian food you’ll ever try.

After satisfying lunch we return back to Kutaisi by 18:00. In the evening guests have free time to enjoy the city. At 20:00 we are heading to Batumi. We are in Batumi by 23:00.
