Mtirala National Park is located on the hill of Kobuleti – Chakvistavi on the western Ajarian-Imeretian side of the Caucasus mountain range. The highest point of the park is 1761m above sea level and the mountain Mtirala itself is 1300 m above sea level.
The mountain “Mtirala” is almost all year round shrouded in fog, Its microclimate is the most humid in all of Georgia, so it has been named "mtirala" - "crying". “Mtirala” is unusually rich in the vegetation of various species, healing mineral springs, and fresh waters.

A TOUR TO "MTIRALA RESERVE" FROM BATUMI
TOUR PROGRAM:
The route starts from the village of Chakvistavi and is divided into the following programs:
1. Visit the "Honey store": a short excursion and tasting of various varieties of honey and tea, as this place is famous for its tea plantations and apiaries from time immemorial; if desired, guests can also buy honey in the store;
2. Meeting the representatives of the park in the center for visitors: In the complex, there are the exhibition and information halls, guest rooms, camping, and places for picnics.
3. Pedestrian walk in the park, accompanied by a guide-instructor: (the round trip is 7 km on foot); (also this route can be traversed on horseback).
You can move around the territory of the reserve:
• On foot;
• By horses;
• By quadricycles (movements on quadricycles are allowed in restricted areas of the park);
• By mountain bikes.
During the walk, visitors can enjoy the breathtaking beauty around the Chakvistskali river, a waterfall, and a lake surrounded by mountains and stop for a rest in specially designated picnic areas.
On the way back to the visitor center, guests will stop for lunch at a local small restaurant by the river. Here you will find delicious food, wine, and homemade "chacha", prepared according to a special secret recipe!
